Gabrielle N. Avancena, MD (she/her/hers)

PGY-2 Resident Physician
New York University Grossman School of Medicine PM&R Program

Gabrielle Avancena is a current PGY-3 PM&R resident physician at NYU Langone Rusk Rehabilitation. She graduated from the Sophie Davis CUNY School of Medicine BS/MAD program. Her love for physiatry began volunteering in a PT gym at a SAR and grew as she became passionate about exercise and the value movement adds to life. Her interests include fitness, general rehab, musculoskeletal medicine, academics, adaptive sports/sports medicine and ultrasound-guided procedures She serves several roles, including Secretary of the Philippine American Physiatrist Association, Ambassador for AAPM&R Physiatrist in Training program, Regional Editor of Rehab in Review, and is involved in multiple committees at NYU including Social Media, Women in Medicine, Ultrasound Curriculum Coordinator, and Rusk Initiative for Sports Medicine Education.
