Brian Vu, MD is a fourth-year resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare in Pomona, California. He earned his MD from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus after completing a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology at UCLA, where his passion for integrating science, clinical research, and patient care was first sparked.
Dr. Vu began his medical career with an intern year in Internal Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, gaining essential experience in acute care and complex medical management. Now as a PM&R resident, he is dedicated to restoring physical function, alleviating pain, and improving quality of life for his patients. His academic interests lie in interventional spine care, pain medicine, and sports medicine, with a particular focus on procedures that deliver transformative outcomes. He plans to pursue a fellowship in pain medicine to deepen his expertise and expand his practice as a physiatrist.
An accomplished researcher and presenter, Dr. Vu has shared his work at national conferences and contributed to publications on diverse topics, including stellate ganglion blocks for COVID-19-related anosmia, thoracolumbar Tarlov cysts in Marfan syndrome, and pediatric surfer's myelopathy. He is also passionate about mentoring medical students and junior peers, inspiring the next generation of PM&R professionals. His ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge pain management and compassionate care, helping patients reach their highest level of functional recovery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Vu enjoys fitness, basketball, traveling, and collecting sneakers. A proud Los Angeles native, he embraces the city's diverse cultures and cuisines.
