Medical Student
A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona
My name's Hayden Reed, OMS III at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. I'm a bilingual student doctor passionate about family, football, and improving wellness for others. I recently completed a year-long research fellowship with the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. Following this, I was selected for the NIDDK NIH Medical Student Research Program, in which I spent a few months investigating treatments for Wolfram Syndrome, presenting at the Annual NIDDK Research Symposium at Vanderbilt and Washington University at St. Louis. Currently, I'm completing my clinical years in St. Louis Missouri and continuing research in areas of interest, such as sports medicine, PM&R, ophthalmology, and diabetes. Additionally, I was president of the PM&R club at ATSU SOMA, which I co-founded with a classmate during my first year of school, and I still serve as the Research Chair. Ever since, I've been highly involved in the field, presenting at both AAP and AAPMR, shadowing physiatrists, and researching residency programs. Though third year rotations are educational and enjoyable, I look forward to beginning elective/away rotations in PM&R and pursuing more exposure in the specialty I intend to apply for.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and little son, watching or playing sports, and playing the piano. I grew up in Utah, and I'm always down to hit the mountains for a hike or snowboarding. Since leaving Utah, I've lived in four states and four timezones, so my family also enjoys adventure and exploring new places (currently in St. Louis).
