Jonathan H Whiteson MD is Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Professor of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, New York, NY, USA. He is the vice chair for clinical operations at Rusk Rehabilitation, NYU Langone Health. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physiology at University College London in 1986 and medical school at University College Hospital, University of London in 1989. Following 5 years working in hospital based medicine in London, he immigrated to New York, USA. He completed PM&R residency in 1998 and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation fellowship in 1999. He has 25 years of clinical experience as a Physiatrist at Rusk Rehabilitation in NYC, specializing in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. He is the medical director for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation for NYU Langone Health system, and director of the cardiopulmonary metabolic stress testing lab. Dr Whiteson lectures nationally and internationally and published extensively on cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. His current focus is on functional outcomes of patients completing cardiopulmonary rehabilitation following heart / lung transplantation, as well as the use of remote patient monitoring in enhancing activity and exercise adherance during and after completing outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
