I-Ling E. Chou, MD

Visiting Medical Student
The University of Alabama at Birmingham

I-Ling (Emily) Chou, MD Candidate, is a final-year medical student at China Medical University in Taiwan. She has completed multiple clinical rotations across the United States, including at Columbia University, UAB, and UPMC, with a focus on PM&R. Emily is the founding team lead of the IMG Committee under one of the largest national PM&R student interest group, where she champions equity, mentorship, and global collaboration. With a strong academic interest in ultrasound education, cross-cultural care, and integrative medicine, she has presented at national and international conferences, co-authored peer-reviewed research, and designed educational tools for learners at all levels. Emily is passionate about building inclusive healthcare communities and pursuing a residency that embraces whole-person, longitudinal, and function-focused care.
