Deion Ellis MD, MMS, PGY3 Resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado. is a dedicated physician and advocate for equity in healthcare. He holds a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from the University of San Diego, a Master's in Medical Science from the University of South Florida, and an MD from the University of New Mexico. After completing his intern year in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico, he is currently in specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado.
Inspired by his immigrant grandparents' experiences with the healthcare system, Dr. Ellis developed an early passion for addressing healthcare disparities and increasing diversity in medicine. He has demonstrated this commitment through leadership roles, including serving as President of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) chapter at his medical school and as Director of the Latino Medical Student Association’s Faculty Physician Advisory Council National Center for Leadership and Advancement.
Dr. Ellis strives to provide culturally competent care while mentoring future physicians and advocating for systemic change to make the healthcare workforce more representative of the communities it serves.
