Anish Rana is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He currently serves as President of his institution’s PM&R Interest Group and Vice President of the AMSSM Medical Student Interest Group. Nationally, he is an active member of the AAP Medical Student Council on the Mentorship Committee and serves as UltrasoundFest Chairman for the Expert Education Institute, a national MSK ultrasound education organization.
His research focuses on musculoskeletal interventions, interventional pain management, and exercise-based rehabilitation in chronic disease, with multiple abstracts and podium presentations at national conferences. In addition to his academic work, he is dedicated to mentorship and community engagement, serving as Program Director of Crossovers & Conversations, where he organizes basketball and health literacy camps for underserved youth in Rochester, NY.
He plans to pursue residency training in PM&R, with the ultimate goal of integrating his research, mentorship, and leadership into a career advancing patient care and medical education for the next generation of physiatrists.
