Maria E. Mesa, Other

Medical Student
Albany Medical College

Maria "Emily" Mesa is a fourth-year medical student at Albany Medical College. She grew up in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology from the University of Southern California. She currently serves as one of the leadership members for her medical school's PM&R Interest Group. In her free time she enjoys volunteering as an assistant swim coach for her local STRIDE Adaptive Sports Swim Team, and training for her next obstacle course race. At AAPMR 2024, she did a podium presentation on a unique case of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. She is interested in Sports Medicine and Neuromuscular Medicine.
