Anisa Benbourenane is a medical student at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Neuroscience and Psychology, she worked as a Clinical Research Assistant for the Long Life Family Study, an NIH-funded longitudinal study on healthy aging. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in a lab investigating behavioral outcomes after Traumatic Brain Injury in rodent models. Her clinical experiences have focused on neurorehabilitation, geriatrics, and working with underserved communities, including roles at a student-run free clinic and as a patient navigator for asylum seekers. In her free time, she enjoys nursing her collection of houseplants back to health, exploring new neighborhoods on rollerblades, and crafting specialty drinks.
