Suha Qasem, MD, MS, IFBB Pro is a PGY3 resident in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at One Brooklyn Health, kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, where she proudly serves as an AAPM&R Ambassador for her PM&R residency program. Dr. Qasem holds dual graduate degrees in Physician Assistant Studies and Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and earned her M.D. from Xavier University School of Medicine. She brings over two decades of clinical, academic, and fitness experience, with a strong background in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and medical education.
Dr. Qasem is a seasoned professional in bodybuilding and physique, holding multiple national and international titles, including IFBB Pro status and powerlifting records. Her role as a Drill Chief for Boot Camp at Southern Illinois University reflects her long-standing commitment to discipline, leadership, and performance—principles she integrates into both medicine and athletics. Passionate about advancing the field, she is actively involved in clinical research and has presented multiple posters at national conferences, focusing on rehabilitation outcomes, complex case reports, and post-COVID recovery.
She is a dedicated advocate for public health and youth fitness education and remains an active member of AAPM&R, the New York Society of PM&R, ACSM, and NSCA. She is fluent in Arabic and English.
