Joshua Graham, Medical Student (Class of 2027) Cert. Lifestyle Medicine - RCSI
Josh Graham is a third-year Graduate Entry Medicine student at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a United States Marine Corps veteran. A 2022 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Biology, he combines more than a decade of experience in higher education, research, and leadership with a deep commitment to patient-centered care. His clinical interests lie in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), where he hopes to integrate advanced technology with compassionate, holistic practice.
Josh will deliver both oral and poster presentations at AAPM&R 2025. He serves as an investigator on multiple projects, including a realist review of lung-cancer diagnostic pathways in South Africa and community-health research exploring “exercise snacking” as a strategy to improve functional outcomes in primary care. His research portfolio encompasses neuroprosthetics, with a focus on sensory-feedback interfaces for lower-limb prostheses, novel approaches to exercise prescriptions, curriculum development for medical education, and new diagnostic pathways for cancer care.
He has presented at major international meetings such as the World Congress of PM&R, AUGPI, and CaPRI, earning recognition for both research impact and engaging presentations. Josh’s academic interests center on neuroprosthetics, rehabilitation technology, and the design of interventions that enhance mobility and quality of life for individuals, regardless of the origin of their injury.
Josh is dedicated to mentorship and service. He actively supports veteran and non-traditional students pursuing medicine, reflecting the leadership and teamwork he cultivated during his Marine Corps service. He also co-manages an investment company, enjoys home-improvement projects, and is an avid reader of fiction and nonfiction alike.
