Ruth Fletcher is an administrative assistant and former medical assistant with UNC PM&R. Ruth worked with UNC PM&R as a work-study student from 2020 until she graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with her bachelor of arts in medical anthropology and minor in chemistry. She worked as the interim assistant to the Chair of the PM&R Department after graduation until transitioning into the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program (MAAP) in the fall of 2022. Ruth completed MAAP in 2023 and served as a medical assistant at the Center for Rehabilitation Care until August 2025. As a medical assistant, Ruth completed the Botulinum Toxin Injection Procedure Checklist QI Project with Dr. Barton. Ruth is now completing a Master of Science in Cell Biology and Physiology at UNC Chapel Hill and plans to apply to MD/PhD programs upon graduating in the Spring of 2026.
