Jerome Torres, BA, is a third-year medical student at Califronia University of Science and Medicine in Colton, California. His research interests include addressing health disparities and improving access to rehabilitation care. His resarch includes comparing the prices of commonly prescribed pain management medications across major pharmacy retailers in California to highlight cost-related barriers to care andexploring ASCVD risk among Filipino-American communities across Southern California.
Beyond research, Mr. Torres is passionate about education and outreach. He has volunteered with community programs and mentoring initiatives that support underserved populations, further reinforcing his interest in bridging gaps in care through advocacy and evidence-based practice.
Looking forward, his goal is to contribute to the advancement of equitable rehabilitation medicine by combining clinical practice, research, and community engagement to improve patient outcomes and expand access to cost-effective, culturally competent care.
