Dr. Wilson isChair and Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the MetroHealth System, and co-Director of the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute. He provides oversight of the clinical, educational, and research operations for the Dept. of PM&R.
Dr. Wilson has been employed in the MetroHealth System for more than 20 years. He is an active researcher and has lead multisite trials studying the use of peripheral nerve stimulation as a treatment for chronic shoulder pain and is co-investigator on trials to improve motor recovery and the treatment of spasticity after stroke. His clinical specialty is in the treatment of those with neurological injury or illness, particularly in the care of stroke survivors.
Dr. Wilson competed medical school at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio and residency training in PM&R at the MetroHealth System. After residency he completed an NIH-funded fellowship in the Rehabilitation Scientist Training Program and earned his Master’s in Clinical Research from Case Western Reserve University.
