Jennifer Viola, D.O. is a resident physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. With a deep commitment to patient-centered care and global health equity, Dr. Viola brings over a decade of experience in therapeutic recreation, international health, and academic research to her clinical training. Before entering medicine, Dr. Viola worked extensively in mental health and substance use rehabilitation, serving in both clinical and leadership roles. Her medical education at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine was marked by a strong emphasis on research and global outreach. At Johns Hopkins, Dr. Viola serves on the House Staff Council and the Wellness Committee, advocating for resident wellbeing and interdisciplinary collaboration, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and volunteers as a community mentor to at-risk youth in Baltimore. Dr. Viola’s professional interests include lifestyle medicine, neurologic rehabilitation, global health systems, spasticity management, and the intersection of physical and psychosocial recovery. She is passionate about harnessing education, research, and advocacy to advance inclusive, patient-driven rehabilitation models both locally and globally.
