Ghid Bahoo, MS, OMS-II, is a second-year medical student at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University. She earned her Master’s degree at the same institution, where she developed a strong foundation in research design and scholarly communication. Her current work examines demographic disparities among U.S. professional sports team physicians, focusing on gender and degree representation across six major professional leagues. This project highlights the ongoing underrepresentation of women and osteopathic physicians in leadership roles and underscores the need for greater inclusion of diverse specialties within sports medicine.
Beyond this research, Ms. Bahoo has contributed to projects in Alzheimer’s disease and medical education, reflecting her broad interests in population health and systems level challenges in care delivery. She is passionate about advancing equity in medicine and exploring how research can inform more balanced, patient-centered approaches to healthcare.
Her career interests center on the intersection of wellness, gastrointestinal health, neuroscience, and exercise, with a commitment to understanding how these domains interact to shape resilience and long-term health outcomes. She aspires to integrate her research background and clinical training into a career focused on improving quality of life through comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
