Chao Liu, MD, is an international medical graduate and Neurophysiologist. He completed his residency training in geriatric orthopedics in Chongqing, China, where he developed expertise in musculoskeletal care and minimally invasive techniques. His passion for restoring function inspired him to expand his focus to neurophysiology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and he is currently applying for PM&R residency training in the United States.
Dr. Liu has also completed clinical rotations in PM&R across the U.S., gaining firsthand experience in inpatient rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, and ultrasound-guided procedures, which further strengthened his commitment to the specialty.
He has contributed to multiple international studies, including research recognized as Best Paper at the WCMISST Congress, and was invited to present in Paris. Building on his clinical and research background, Dr. Liu is dedicated to integrating neurodiagnostics, musculoskeletal medicine, and innovative rehabilitation strategies to enhance patients’ quality of life. His goal is to bring a holistic, patient-centered perspective to PM&R and to foster meaningful connections that advance the specialty.
