Isabel Nip, MD, MS is a third-year physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) resident physician at the University of Connecticut/Hartford Healthcare/Gaylord Specialty Healthcare. She graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) with her B.S., M.S., and M.D. degrees. In medical school, she founded the Physical Medicine Mobility Clinic at the South Park homeless shelter in Hartford, Connecticut, and organized the inaugural UConn PM&R Fair, launching the UConn PM&R Student Interest Group. She presented at various meetings including Physiatry ’25 (Best Paper Awards Winner for Honorable Mention, the highest honor for a case report abstract selected from over 1,000 presentations), American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) (oral and poster presentation), Women Innovators in Pain Management (WIPM) 2025 Annual Conference (Top 3 Abstract and Lisa Stearns Travel Grant recipient), and American Society of Pain & Neuroscience (ASPN) Seventh Annual Conference. She is also developing her residency program’s first Resident Ultrasound Skills Enhancement Series. Isabel hopes to pursue a pain fellowship and open her own private practice. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, painting, and performing Chinese traditional dance.
