Medical Student
Lewis Katz School of Medicine At Temple University
My name is Melanie Gonzalez, and I am a fourth-year MD/MA candidate at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University, pursuing a career in Child Neurology. My interests lie at the intersection of neuroscience, health equity, and compassionate care for underserved pediatric populations.
During my research year at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), I contributed to studies on pediatric migraines, disparities in emergency headache care, and adverse childhood experiences. I’ve had the privilege of using my Spanish-speaking skills to support families during care, easing conversations and ensuring trust.
Outside of medicine, I find joy in weightlifting/pilates, going to visit my family in Miami, and spending time with my mini-Golden Retriever, Bailey. I strive to be a physician who not only diagnoses and treats, but also listens, advocates, relates, and uplifts.
