Dr. Rebecca Takele is a PGY-4 resident physician in PM&R at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in New York City. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia, followed by her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with Research Distinction from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Virginia. She then completed her intern year in General Surgery at Albany Medical Center in upstate New York.
Dr. Takele has a strong interest in the comprehensive management of pain, treatment of sports-related joint injuries, and functional restoration. She is passionate about advancing the field of Pain Medicine through evidence-based practice, patient education, research, and innovative procedural techniques that enhance quality of life for individuals with chronic pain and functional impairments.
Dr. Takele will be pursuing an Interventional Pain Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, next year. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, exploring nature, and playing her electric guitar.
