Lynn Worobey, PhD, DPT, ATP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh with secondary appointments in the Departments of Bioengineering, Physical Therapy, and Rehabilitation Science & Technology. Dr. Worobey is the Co-Director of the University of Pittsburgh Model Center on Spinal Cord Injury.
Dr. Worobey’s research interests are clinical and translational studies that focus on enhancing independence and participation of individuals with disabilities. Her work is rooted in the belief that lived experiences must inform research, clinical practice. Her projects address a wide range of critical areas, including functional outcomes following neurologic injury, training and assessment approaches to improve rehabilitation outcomes, the consequences of wheelchair breakdowns, health equity and disparities, and the development of smart technologies and innovative assistive solutions.
