Medical Student
University of Utah School of Medicine
My name is Jake Taylor, BS, MS3, and I am a third-year medical student at the University of Utah School of Medicine. I am passionate about trauma and surgical care, with career interests in plastic and reconstructive surgery, particularly burn surgery. My research includes studying the role of neutrophils in hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, barriers to accessing reconstructive surgery in underserved populations, and quality-of-life outcomes with wearable breast pumps. In addition to research, I am committed to advocacy and community service through my work with the student-led PrEP clinic, which provides HIV prophylaxis and STD testing for uninsured patients. My goal is to advance patient-centered, equitable surgical care for vulnerable and underserved populations.
