Naomi Kaplan, MBBS, is a physiatrist and palliative medicine specialist at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She currently serves as director of Mary Free Bed's Betty Bloomer Ford Cancer Rehab Program. Her practice encompasses non-interventional cancer rehabilitation, clinical lymphology, bone health, and chronic pain. Dr Kaplan completed her medical training at University College London Medical School (United Kingdom). She worked as a medico-surgical house officer in Northern Ireland, prior to immigrating to the United States. Dr Kaplan completed her preliminary internship at University of Missouri and graduated from physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Zucker SOM at Hofstra/Northwell in Long Island, New York. This was followed by a fellowship at Mercy Health, Grand Rapids, and board certification in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr Kaplan’s interests include medical education, clinical ethics, and integrating palliative medicine into physiatry.
