Max Thrush Hukill, AB (he/him) is a third-year medical student at the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine in Pasadena, California. Originally from Oakland, Max grew up in the Bay Area before attending Bowdoin College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in mathematics and biochemistry. He then worked as a high school math teacher and community health educator in between undergraduate and medical school. In his clinical work, Max is passionate about bringing values-concordant care to patients of all walks of life. He plans to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with interests in rehabilitating patients with burn, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries. His research interests span medical education, biomechanics, patient agency in healthcare delivery systems, social health needs, and computational burn injury classification. In his free time, Max enjoys the pursuit of languages, music, tennis, film, and board games.
