Emily Deschler is a second-year medical student at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Prior to medical school, Emily served as the Head Clinical Research Technician (2022-2024) for the Department of Anesthesiology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. In addition to overseeing a dedicated research team, she was a study coordinator for various clinical trials evaluating pain management interventions, including the SKOAP Study comparing the effectiveness of non-surgical treatments for knee osteoarthritis pain, and the Nevro PDN-SENSORY Trial evaluating 10 kHz spinal cord stimulation in the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy. She is also at the forefront of translational research evaluating spinal cord stimulation for stiff person syndrome. Emily received her BS in cell biology and biochemistry from Bucknell University. She is excited to further explore her interests throughout medical school and aspires to become a physician who is passionate about developing innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
