Medical Student OMS IV
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
I am Nilabhra “Neal” Sarangi, OMS IV, a fourth-year osteopathic medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Elmira), completing clinical training at St.John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers. My interests include interventional spine and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
I help coordinate the NYSPM&R Journal Club and serve as a student delegate with the Medical Society of the State of New York. My recent scholarly work includes multi-author projects on peripheral nerve stimulation and interventional approaches to a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
I studied kinesiology and worked as a physical therapy aide before medical school, experiences that grounded my approach in function and access to care. Outside the hospital, I volunteer with adaptive sports programs and with Meals on Wheels.
At AAPM&R, I hope to connect with mentors, share ideas on neuromodulation and ultrasound education, and build collaborations that improve patient outcomes. I am committed to patient-centered, team-based care and to advancing rehabilitation through clinical excellence, research, and service.
