Karishma Lukose, BS, is a fourth-year medical student at Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Florida A&M University. Her interests in physical medicine and rehabilitation include diagnostic challenges, interdisciplinary care, and improving access for underserved populations. She has volunteered extensively with the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and community free clinics, experiences that shaped her passion for patient advocacy and addressing healthcare disparities. Throughout medical school, she has valued learning from diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams, strengthening her commitment to helping patients restore function and quality of life. Karishma plans to pursue residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with long-term goals of integrating clinical practice, mentorship, and scholarship while advancing health equity and innovative approaches to patient recovery.
