Melissa Marzouk, B.S., D.O. Candidate is a medical student at Nova Southeastern University’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, Class of 2029. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Honors Transdisciplinary Studies from Nova Southeastern University in 2024.
Melissa has conducted research on antibiotic resistance and microbial interactions, contributing to peer-reviewed publications in Microbiology Spectrum and eLife, and has presented her work at national and regional American Society for Microbiology conferences. She previously interned with the Broward Healthy Start Coalition, developing culturally competent health communication materials to address infant mortality in underserved communities.
In addition to her research and clinical experiences as a medical assistant, Melissa has demonstrated extensive leadership through roles such as Speaker of the Senate in student government and President of Orthodox Christian Campus Ministries, where she organized health fairs, community service projects, and mentorship programs. Her academic and service contributions have been recognized with multiple scholarships and awards for excellence and leadership.
