Dr. Zainab Mohamed, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Oberlin College. She earned her Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, following an M.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Her research sits at the intersection of environmental health and data science, with projects spanning predictive modeling for cancer outcomes, spatio-temporal analysis of air quality, and the development of advanced statistical modeling approaches, including Bayesian hierarchical modeling. She has a strong commitment to undergraduate education and actively involves students in her research, mentoring them toward conference presentations and future careers in data science.
