Non-Operative Sports Medicine, Clinical Assistant Professor

As a non-operative, fellowship-trained sports medicine physician who specializes in sports and musculoskeletal injuries, I treat and manage arthritis and tendon injuries, perform diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal imaged-guided procedures, and offer advanced regenerative medicine therapies. I see all athletes and patients with any musculoskeletal condition to help optimize their function and quality of life.
I completed my internship at Coney Island Hospital with residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and then a sports medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. During my residency to fellowship, I medically volunteered to assist at various marathons as well as a numerous combat sports-related events, ranging from boxing and Muay Thai to mixed martial arts (MMA). In my fellowship year, I served as assistant team physician for a wide range of high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams, especially notable sideline coverage with the South Bronx United soccer tournament and the New York City Football Club.
I currently am one of the team captains for New York Road Runners and triathlon events, ringside doctor for USA Boxing, Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA), and World Kickboxing Association (WKA). I am also one of the few New York clinical directors for the Special Olympics New York.
I am a published physician and hold memberships with professional societies, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and New York Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. I continue to have an interest in researching biomechanics, innovative technologies and treatments, sports medicine, Special Olympics, combat sports, adaptive sports, musculoskeletal injuries, regenerative medicine, osteopathy, complementary and alternative medicine, public health, wellness, and physiatry-related injuries and treatments.
