Tony Merendino, DPM, earned his medical degree from Barry University, School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL. He completed his residency training in podiatric surgery at Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Warren, Michigan.
Dr. Merendino joined the faculty of the department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Florida in November 2019. He currently holds the position of assistant professor in the foot and ankle division. His role includes clinical and didactic training of the orthopaedic residents, sports medicine fellows and mid-levels within the university. Dr. Merendino is currently participating and leading multiple research projects within the scope of foot and ankle at UF.
Dr. Merendino previously served as a professor of chiropody at The Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto from 2009 until 2019. He was the recipient of the resource innovation award from the Michener Institute for advancement in podiatric surgical education, and served as a council member of the College of Chiropody of Ontario.
Dr. Merendino initiated and helped coordinate the expansion of the residency program at the Hollywood Medical Center in Hollywood, FL and has given numerous lectures on podiatric pathologies and treatments to both professional and lay populations throughout Canada and the United States.
