Dr. Casanegra is an Associate Professor of Medicine with a primary appointment in the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases (Vascular Division). She is the current Director of the Thrombosis, Anticoagulation and Thrombophilia Clinic and the co-Director of the multidisciplinary Antiphospholipid Syndrome Clinic. She has undergone extensive training prior to joining the Mayo Clinic Vascular Division. This includes fellowship completion in Vascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic and a master's in clinical and Translational Research at the School of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma. Her research interests include antiphospholipid syndrome, venous thromboembolism prevention and treatment, and diagnostics of vascular diseases. Her clinical interests include antiphospholipid syndrome, peripheral artery disease, non-atherosclerotic arterial disease, aneurysms, arterial and venous thrombosis including complex thrombophilia evaluation and management, and anticoagulation management.
