Medical Student
Touro University California
Aiden le Roux is a third-year osteopathic medical student at Touro University California with a strong interest in ultrasound applications in pain management and neurorehabilitation. At the 2025 AAPM&R Annual Assembly, he is presenting two posters: one on innovative approaches to ultrasound-guided occipital nerve blocks for occipital neuralgia, and another scoping review examining the role of ultrasound in post-stroke rehabilitation.
Aiden has been extensively involved in ultrasound education and training. He has served as a model and table trainer with the Global Ultrasound Insitute (GUSI), working alongside residents and faculty to teach a broad range of ultrasound applications, including abdominal, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging. He has also contributed to the development of educational ultrasound videos to enhance procedural learning.
As an active member of Touro University’s Ultrasound Club, Aiden was recognized as one of the top trainers for his dedication to teaching first- and second-year medical students point-of-care ultrasound techniques such as FAST, AAA, and lung exams. His early and consistent engagement with ultrasound has deepened both his technical proficiency and his passion for advancing its use in clinical practice.
In addition to his ultrasound work, Aiden’s research background spans molecular biology, geriatrics, and interventional pain medicine. His projects have been presented at multiple professional society meetings, including the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Osteopathic Surgeons and Physicians of California.
Looking ahead, Aiden hopes to integrate his research interests and ultrasound expertise into a career in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, with a focus on procedural pain management and neurorehabilitation. Outside of medicine, he enjoys basketball, running, music, and spending time with his fiance.
