Dr. Yung Chen is a Spine & Muscle/Joint Specialist, who completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty in Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine at Stanford University Hospital, Stanford, CA.
A former Stanford School of Medicine faculty, founder of Stanford Spine Center, "The Best Teacher" by Stanford, a board-certified fellowship trained physician of 20 years with experience in non-surgical interventional treatment in the spine and musculoskeletal medicine by focusing on functional restoration through physical therapy rehabilitation, medical acupuncture, and injection therapy. The goal is to deliver the highest quality in patient care without surgery or medications dependency at San Mateo Spine Center.
His expertise is to provide conservative care for patients suffering neck pain, back pain, sciatica, pinched nerve, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, sports injuries, work related injuries, and other muscle/joint problems.
Prior entering private practice, Dr. Chen served as an Assistant Professor, Medical Director for the Stanford Interventional Spine Center, Stanford, CA. He has taught many physicians about nerve, muscle, joint, spinal disease and injection therapy. Dr. Chen was voted by the Stanford students as the Best Teacher of the year in 2001. He is dedicated to medical research. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and book chapters. He has been presenting research articles at international medical meetings. He has been interviewed by KRON TV, various newspapers, and TIME magazine (2001) for innovative spine care. Dr. Chen is very excited to serve patients in the Bay Area.
